The news of Apple holding a ‘strange’ event in February, as was declared yesterday by a sometime-reliable Japanese website, went viral yesterday but I’ve decided not to cover the story because I found it highly unlikely.

The Japanese publication declared that Apple was planning a ‘strange’ iPad 3 media event during this month, but Jim Dalrymple from The Loop, usually well connected with Apple’s events, commented from his blog:

This is not going to happen, according to my sources. Apple will not hold an event in February, unusual or otherwise. That’s it.

The next generation tablet, may be launched in March and, unless something changes at the last moment, it should sport the A6 quad-core processor from Apple, support the LTE (4G) network, and have a higher resolution display.
