Update: Apple has announced that the products removed will soon go back online since the company gore granted a temporary suspension of enforcement of the Motorola injection.

It is not clear how long the suspension will last for, as well as it’s unknown on which legal grounds the suspension was warranted.

Oh oh…things are not looking too good for Apple in Germany today. Apple_iPhone_3G

Apple has lost the iCloud court case against Motorola Mobilty. The judge decided in favor of German Motorola Mobility and issued a permanent injunction “against the push email service of Apple’s iCloud (and its predecessor, MobileMe) and any devices that can access it.”

Simultaneously the Cupertino company removed iPads 3G models, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 (but not iPhone 4S) from its online German store. According to Foss Patents the removal of these devices has nothing to do with the Motorola injunction released today, but is related to the other court case that Motorola won in early December.

The fact that the iPhone 4S was not affected is probably because the handset is powered by Qualcomm chip that has a cross-license agreement with Motorola, therefore covering Apple’s handset.

“Apple points out that this affects only the German online store. Customers can still buy the product from retailers, including Apple’s own signature stores.”
